Chevron TM has provided more support to local schools who are continuing to educate their pupils remotely as lockdown continues.
Following a recent donation to Knowl Hill CofE Academy in Berkshire, Chevron has donated a further 10 laptops to Bentley West Primary School in Walsall. Chevron TM built a relationship with the school in December during a Charity Challenge with the Area 9 SRN Alliance, which raised thousands of pounds for local charities and built an outdoor learning area for the teachers and pupils.
Martin Johnson, Area 9 Delivery Manager, Chevron TM who returned to the school with a supply of laptops and goodie bags commented: “It was an honour to be involved in creating the outside learning space for Bentley West PS. It will make such a difference to teachers and pupils in the long term. However, in the short term, lockdown has brought challenges for the school with many pupils unable to participate in home-schooling because they had no access to mobile devices. Chevron TM was delighted to donate laptops to the school and make a difference to the teachers, pupils and the wider community.”
Bentley West PS teacher Lindsay Hobbs added: “We are so grateful to Chevron TM for the laptops. They really will be of great benefit to our families in need and of course, the work and development in the forest area by the Area 9 team last year has given us a fantastic outdoor learning space which I could not have achieved without significant support. It all means that our children can continue learning during lockdown and the forest will be healthier and more sustainable for the children of Bentley in the future.”
